Thanks to the collaboration with AIAS – The Italian Sustainable Agrivoltaic Association, ZeroEmission Mediterranean 2023 will not only welcome for the first time an exhibition area dedicated to companies and associations involved in agrivoltaics but also a conference hall that host specific workshops focused on technical, environmental and socio-economic aspects of this promising sector.
AIAS – The Italian Sustainable Agrivoltaic Association was established on 16 September 2022 with the aim of carrying out promotional activities for the development of Agrivoltaic, supporting projects that enhance the production potential of both subsystems – Agricultural and Photovoltaic – also through advanced technological solutions.
The aims of the Association are:
- Contribute to the knowledge of the potential and performance of sustainable agri-voltaic systems
- Create a qualification procedure for sustainable agrivoltaics
- Create a collection of case studies and best practices
- Become the official reference in Italy and a referent for foreign associations and organizations
- Establish and coordinate qualified and interdisciplinary work tables to give support to the bodies responsible for the application and validation of government guidelines
- Represent and promote the corporate aim at institutional level
Joining AIAS means believing in the ecological value of agrivoltaics, developing sustainable good practices for the benefit of all living beings.
The sustainability of an agrivoltaic system derives from the added value it brings to agricultural production, the environment and the landscape, with respect and improving the biodiversity and ecosystem qualities of sites in support of local communities.
An agrivoltaic system is sustainable if it has performance characteristics such as to guarantee sustainability environmental, social and economic aspects with respect to three dimensions: agriculture, energy and landscape.
